Indonesia is now Asia’s epicentre for the Covid-19 pandemic with the delta variant spreading across the archipelago. The Jokowi government has announced nationwide Covid-19 curbs to contain the outbreak. The government has also downgraded its 2021 economic forecast to between 3.7 per cent to 4.5 per cent. The SIIA will be organising a webinar, “Indonesia in Crisis: Pandemic, Politics and Economic Stresses” on Wednesday, 28 July 2021. Join panellists, Mr. Wellian Wiranto, Economist, OCBC and Mr. Endy Bayuni, Senior Editor, Jakarta Post, for a discussion on the impact of the Delta variant surge in Indonesia as well as the prospects and challenges that lie for the country in the months ahead.
