As Singapore looks towards pursuing an “endemic” strategy, deepening cooperation with regional partners is an important aspect for the country’s post-pandemic recovery, according to the SIIA’s “New Horizons: Global and Regional Strategies for Singapore’s Future”. In an interview with CNBC on the report, Associate Professor Simon Tay, Chairman of the SIIA said, “The key part about both the Harris’ visit and the Wang Yi visit is that we still remain very relevant and I think the future for the region as a whole looks solid.”

The New Horizons report highlights global trends, such as the Sino-American tensions, supply chain disruptions, rise of the digital economy and divergence of growth accelerated due to the pandemic, and its implications for Singapore.
