Amidst the Sino-American trade war and other factors like the Chinese slowdown, market watchers are expecting correspondingly slower growth in Singapore. Policymakers have warned about the risk of a technical recession in the fourth quarter of 2019, potentially continuing into next year. In this climate, this year’s National Day Rally will be closely watched to see what signals the Government will send, and any new initiatives to strengthen Singapore’s attractiveness to investors and its appeal as a Global- Asia Hub.

  • What is the likelihood of a recession? What are the key factors to watch
  • What messages is the Government sending with regards to growth and competitiveness?
  • How is Singapore continuing to build capabilities, innovate, and work with businesses?
