The SIIA, in partnership with the National Youth Council (NYC), hosted a webinar on “COVID-19, Geopolitics, Integration: What ASEAN can Do” on Saturday, 24 October 2020.

During the webinar, Associate Professor, Simon Tay, Chairman of the SIIA, highlighted why ASEAN is important to youths in Singapore. As Singapore strengthens its economy, it is critical that the country remains open to opportunities beyond our shores. Developing our youths to have a discerning world view is critical to Singapore’s future success.

The webinar was attended by over 700 youths from Temasek Polytechnic. They are part of the Asia-Ready Programme (AEP), an initiative that equips youths with knowledge about our region and more importantly how they can tap on the opportunities in the region amidst the uncertain economic landscape. As knowledge partner to the AEP, the SIIA supports the NYC with content and curation of webinar topics for the youths.
