With the number of infections increasing daily, the Covid-19 situation is unravelling. As many are focused on the health implications, the world needs to turn its attention to the economic impact and relations the virus has.
Associate Professor Simon Tay, Chairman of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), is able to comment on the economic impact Covid-19 would have on the global community, in particular ASEAN.
The SIIA is a leading independent think tank based in Singapore which is part of the network of “track-2” think tanks in the region. Associate Professor Tay is concurrently a tenured Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. He has written and advised extensively on ASEAN, and on its relations with major powers including China.
