Even as ASEAN governments reopen their economies, it bears remembering that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over. Beijing experienced a surge in cases originating from a food market nearly 50 days after its last confirmed case. Cases in the USA have topped 2 million and continue to rise, but the University of Washington predicted that Brazil could surpass it as early as 1 August 2020. India, too, could reach 1 million cases by August. Here’s a quick look at statistics surrounding the countries with the highest COVID-19 case counts.
