At the EU-Singapore Dialogue on Climate Change on Thursday, 5 November 2020, Mr. Desmond Tan, Singapore’s Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment said that Singapore needs to leverage green finance and mobilise capital for low-carbon investments to ensure economic growth and fight climate change at the same time. The dialogue was organised by the SIIA with the support of the EU Delegation to Singapore and in partnership with the Energy Studies Institute (ESI) of the National University of Singapore (NUS); and the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). It was attended by over 140 policy makers, industry experts, corporate leaders, and key decision-makers from Europe and Southeast Asia throughout the day.
