Women have been traditionally underrepresented in the think tank industry, especially in key leadership positions. This has been changing in the last few years, with more women taking up research and leadership roles at the SIIA. Jessica Wa’u, Deputy Director (ASEAN) at the SIIA spoke at the Breaking the Glass Ceiling in the Ivory Tower: The Role of Women in Think Tanks and Policy Advice forum on 25 March 2021 about the challenges and opportunities for women in the industry. The forum was organised by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, The University of Pennsylvania.
